Stevie soundtracks the footie


Last week the BBC unveiled Stevie Wonder’s song Another Star as the theme for its Fifa World Cup coverage. The song, with its Latin American vibe, will feature in the opening sequence for all the BBC’s World Cup programming and will make its debut on a preview show this Wednesday on BBC1.

Going to Glastonbury is the must do experience for all die-hard music fans, right? When team Umusic discovered communications manager Mike hadn’t been to the world’s biggest festival at Worthy Farm everyone started to question his credentials as a music lover. So, there was only one solution: get him a ticket, hand him a camera and send him to off to the festival to experience it first-hand. Before he gets there, he needs your help and advice.

The England World Cup squad has scored a winner before a ball has been kicked in Brazil by picking their musical choices for a new UMTV album. Globe meanwhile have been working on a 90 minute TV Boys In Brazil programme for MTV.

There’s a school of thought that the digital age heralded the death knell for album artwork. Not true. As demonstrated by the massive success of the recent Secret 7 exhibition and auction, which saw 700 different single cover designs created by artists including Antony Gormley and Jake and Dinos Chapman, art and music remain very compatible sleeve mates.

Secret 7" returns for 2014


Globally renowned artists Jake and Dinos Chapman, Sir Antony Gormley and Sir Paul Smith have all created original artworks for this year's Secret 7", the charity project which offers hundreds of designers a chance to create an original vinyl artwork, this year in aid of War Child.
